MIDI Export Strange behavior (and possible workaround)

Hi, upon exporting a midifile from a project and doing so by soloing the miditrack in question, the resulting export goes by the name of MIDI and not the more usual: .mid.
It will report as broken if i export the midi file over to a windows 10 machine for use with say; Reason 10.
This looks to me like it is relatet to apple silicon. Im on M2 / Cubase 13.
Taking the exportet file will not allow me to open it in a windows 10 machine. However if i import it on the same M2 machine into Reason it works fine. Then i export it from Reason ( as a standard midi file) and are able to bring the file on to windows and software.

Hi,

On Mac, Cubase has been always exported midi with the .midi extension. Both extensions (.mid and *.midi) are totally valid.

Hi, i see. I dont have any other explanation to the windows not wanting to aknowledge the files. A mystery indeed.
