Can anybody tell me where Cubase stores its MIDI files and why they do not show up in a Windows search?
Unlike audio files, they do not sit on your HDD. It is data that is embedded in each project, and the only way to access them is to open the project.
Unless, while you have the project open, you export > .mid file.
I would have thought the files that show in Media Bay would also be visible elsewhere.
My plan is to create a small library of my own loops for ease of use - the included Cubase ones are too fancy and unique. I would prefer generic files that we would then customise rather than elaborate files that need to be stripped down.
The Media Bay files also contain a lot of metadata like genre, tempo etc. How would we include that in our own files?
By adding it in the arrribute inspector.
