MIDI guitars produce low twang at onset

Colleagues,

Running Dorico 6 on Mac Tahoe. I have three ukuleles in my piece and to help differentiate the sounds I have chosen the following in HALion Sonic: GM28 Clean Guitar, Gm25 Nylon Guitar, and GM26 Steel Guitar. Everything is fine except the following: When I press play, there is a giant, loud C1 twang that is not in the piece — this I can live with. This twang also sounds whenever I select a note in one of the three ukes — this is driving me bonkers.

My knowledge of these things is rather rudimentary, so I have no idea how to go about fixing this. I’m not trying to produce a quality MIDI rendition; I just like to be able to play things back and make changes. Your help is appreciated.

cheers,

Andrea

This is almost certainly a Key switch, triggered by the Expression Map. Make sure you are using the correct map for your selected sample instrument in Play mode.

Thank you. I don’t actually know which map is the correct one. I switched to something else (Aria) and now I have the same problem, but with a different timbre.

Try the Default map, which has no keyswitches.

Yes, that’s much better. Thank you!
