I have just upgrade to Win 7 and Cubase 6.0.3 and am having problems importing MIDI files, which I don’t do very often, but I currently have a project where I am importing quite a few.
The MIDI files seem to import OK in terms of the data imported, but Halion SE doesn’t make anything like the right noises, and always the same “synth” sound . So it doesn’t seem to recognise the MIDI GM patches at the start of the MIDI tracks.
If I go back to Cubase 5.5, the files import perfectly with Halion One as the sound source on each track and with each instance of Halion set to the correct sound. So that is how I am currently doing the import - via C5.5 and then opening and saving in C6, which is a little convoluted!
Other than this problem, C6 is looking pretty good on my setup (AMD Athlon 6000+, 4GB RAM, EMU 1212M).
