Midi import problem

I had a project which I was very satisfied with the integration of all the parts, but the drum part was difficult and so I wanted to be able to play the song slower and then work up to speed.

So I warp marked all the measures, which were all 140 bpm, then 139, and did definition from tempo. So when I was playing back, and lowered the tempo, all the parts were playing back in time, both midi and audio, but I noticed, except for the midi drum track which got more and more misaligned. this project was saved under a new name, so I went to the previous one before definition from tempo, and it is in time at 140bpm. So I exported this and verified in Win media player that it is just the drum track, and plays. I import it into the desired project, but find no track with the name I assigned, nothing new added. I also tried to drag the midi file to a midi track created, but it is just blank space. What went wrong?

Have you exported the drum track as an audio track? In that case you have to re-import it as an audio track. Or did I get it wrong?

I’m just dealing the the midi track.

so no solution?

Hi,
if the drum track is a midi instrument you can directly import it from any project into your new project. You need to use the import tracks from project function under the file menu header. If you have imprinted the tempo track data into your midifile you can check the box “Ignore Master Track Events on Merge” when you import the midi track. This way the tempo track data is ignored and the imported MIDI file adapts to the current tempo track in the project. That should do the trick.
