Midi information showing on the task bar but unable to reach any allocated channel.

I’ve checked the Midi Port setup and all seems in order.

If I play the on-screen keyboard of a VST it sounds but any external Midi keyboard, simply won’t reach the VST. Whether the input is set to “Any Input” or a specific one (eg Keystation Pro 88) the problem persists.

If I “pen in” midi data it does play

I’ve checked Device Manager for any problems and all is clear.

The setup, Windows 11 (up to date), Cubase pro 14, Presonus Studiolive S32

Any advice?

If you hit record and play the keyboard does it record any notes into the midi editor?

Silly question but I have to ask, do you have monitoring turned on for the track?

No, that is not a silly question at all. Note to self, “enable record arm” if you want to data input.
