Dear Steinberg Team!
I've been using VST Live since its release and am currently on version 3.0.10.88.
Since around version 2.8, I've been having a problem where MIDI (drum) tracks that play perfectly in Cubase have gaps in VST Live. This means that beats are randomly missed. Most often it's beat 1, which sounds quite bad. If I import the track back into Cubase, everything is fine again.
How can I fix this?
Setup:
Cubase 14 (PC) with Addictive Drums 2
VST Live (Mac) - same plugin, same kit, same map, via Global Layer
If your keyboard is sending MIDIClock Update to any higher (currently 3.0.19)
Thanks for the quick reply. No external MIDI device is connected. I installed the latest update from vstlive.net > Pre-Release 3.0.19. The error persists. Are there any other solutions?
It’s essential to exactly describe the problem you experience while using VSTLive
Okay then: I use VST Live as a backing track for my band. The setup includes: - 2 VST plugins (Addictive Drums 2, MODO Bass) as a global layer. - These are triggered by two MIDI tracks. - A MIDI control track for Neural DSP Plini X is also used. - Sometimes a WAV track is added. No external MIDI devices are connected. The drum track has no MIDI CC data or automation other than velocity. The problem only occurs with Addictive Drums 2 (latest update installed) and manifests itself as follows: Since version 2.8 (I don’t remember the exact version) and also the latest version 3.0.19, some beats are missing when playing the drum track. If the same section is played back repeatedly, these missing beats reappear, while others are missing. There’s no discernible pattern; sometimes the beats are there, sometimes not. It’s not a large number, but in a song of about 3 minutes, these dropouts occur approximately 5 times. Thanks for the help!
Off my head: check Preferences/MIDI, Length correction might be an issue. Likewise Quantize on MIDI track
Possibly, there are too many data, so try “Edit/Reduce Events” on the problematic clips.
To narrow, may also remove everything but the track(s) loosing events, and play with audio device buffer size setting.
