This thing will do in Dorico?
Dorico is only duration before pitch… unfortunately 
Here’s an idea I’ve had for quite some time (I may have mentioned it before):
What if holding down a C or a D (etc) would allow you to input different rhythms using the numbers (finale style)?
The team may have other plans, but I don’t see why this couldn’t co-exist with the current system.
I believe this would save a lot of keypresses in certain situations.
We don’t rule out adding some Speedy Entry-style aspects to note input in the future, but it’s not a priority for us at the moment versus the other things we’re currently working on. Unfortunately we do not have infinite programmers and infinite time, so we have to prioritise. At the moment, enabling things that are otherwise not possible at all is generally speaking a higher priority than adding additional ways to do things the program can already do.
