Midi instrument tracks stop playing

This has happened randomly over the months, change of keyboard makes no difference (it needed changing

I have looked through the forum and noticed people having this problem over the years, but cannot find any of the solutions to work for me

One tune i am working on, for example, has a simple 4 track tune, all using instrument tracks

I press play, and off we go, but if i stop anywhere, work on a track, and move the curser back anywhere and press play, only the track i worked on will play

If i then, do something to the other tracks, highlight them for instance, they all start to play properly.

I then make another adjustment to one track and move the cursor back when all the tracks are highlighted, i get the same problem, the other tracks don’t play

If i then untick all the Record buttons, as another example, the problem gets solved again

and so the problem goes on.

Two songs i tried tonight had the same problem

I got fed up and closed Cubase

I have windows 10, 16gb ram and a Rhyzen 5, but can’t see how that would cause anything

Any help will be gratefully received

Can you post some screenshots of this occurring - both when things play right & when they don’t.

Thanks,
I will do this later today

I closed and restarted my computter and cannot replicate the problem at the moment, so i will post again when it happens again, but i will continue to try and find the problem, or at least cause it to happen.

Then i will hopefully discover what

Right, if i work on a midi track in the editor (the Theramin one in this instance), then go back to the Project page ( i have two monitors, so just a case of moving the mouse across), then move my cursor to where i want to start, and press Play (either Spacebar, Transport icon etc, only the Theramin track will play.

If i disable the red Record button on that track, all other tracks play

This doesn’t always cause the problem though, strangely enough, but when it does randomly happen, clicking the Record button sorts it

Which is how I’m having to live with it at the moment, and as the ‘solution’ is a simple click, i’ll live with it

Update
Got the same problem but no track had the Record button enabled

So i enabled the monitor button, for the hell of it, and it sorted the problem

So anything just needs a click to sort it, it seems

If anyone does suffer from this, hit the yellow M mute icon on the top toolbar and the silent tracks start to play again
