I have recently loaded cubase 12. Everything works great except all of my midi instruments show a signal but I can’t get no sound. What am I doing wrong?
Are they record enabled?
Hi and welcome to the forum,
How do you know they get the signal? Can you see any monitor/led in the instrument? Can you see the meters on the Instrument track?
Where is the output from the Instrument track routed to? Can you see the meters?
Where is the Stereo Out routed to?
MIDI instruments: external devices,?VSTi’s? What audio interface are you using? Windows? MAC?
Did you check the settings of your virtual instruments that are assigned to instrument tracks or midi tracks. Check the volume and output settings within the virtual instruments as well. Also, make sure the midi channel & input are properly set in both, virtual instrument and midi track in Cubase.
I am a cubase user. With Apple computers. I recently upgraded from cubase 11 artist to cubase 12 pro. I have been using cubase for 20 years. Can’t figure this one out. I’m wondering if something is interfering. Thanks for the responses. I will look them over again and give it a shot. I do get a signal, but no sound.
Hi,
Could you reply our questions, so we can get better picture, please?
Problem solved. I did not have my control room connected. Thank you all.
Similiar problem - I have a MAudio Keystation controller - when I play it I see the midi Vus working in Cubase but no sound?
Hi and welcome to the forum,
Where are the MIDI data routed to? What is the output of the MIDI track?
Thanks for getting back to me - Im new at this say I may not understand your questions accurately. I’m using a MTrack MAudio interface and I think the output is to it which is connected to monitor speakers. Not sure where it is routed to - where do I find that?
Even more confusingly it records but I hear nothing on playback (and I can’t hear an existing commercial midi file either). Could it be the main driver as I can hear midi files on other software that uses a non ASIO driver??
