Am using Cubase 6.5/Win XP
Problem #1: When I play MIDI I have very slight latency.
Problem #2: When I play back something I have recorded in MIDI, it plays back slightly ahead of the beat (to the left), even though that is not how I played it.
Are these issue related do you think?

Latency is normal. It should be in ms units. Check your ASIO driver.

Finally fixed it.
Went to Devices > VST Audio System and chose my sound card input (NOT DirectX). So nicve to have no latency and for the midi to record in the correct place. Perfect!
Yes, DirectX is not the right one driver. Same as FullDuplex isn’t.
