Will someone please recommend a Midi that works well with Dorico 6?
Could you be more specific? As far as I know, any MIDI machine works flawlessly with Dorico (1-6), what kind of material are you referring to?
I guess @0202 is asking about a MIDI keyboard specifically.
You’re right, it was specified in the title…
I think there are already a bunch of threads on that subject in the forum, so you can use the search engine.
I really depends on the real estate you have for that keyboard. If you don’t have real estate, you can take a two or three octave keyboard, they’re cheap and there are lots of great models (I have an Arturia one, which I’m happy to use when I’m out of home for an opera production).
If you have some room, I would recommend a full 88keys keyboard. I’m using my old SY85 which is 5octaves only, and it’s really a problem not to have all the keys to input all the music and all the key switches directly. YMMV
I’d also recommend a full 88 key keyboard but beyond that it’s difficult. Do you want to use MIDI controllers in realtime – not something which is as yet practical in Dorico but which generally is supported by DAW’s then you’ll want to ensure that your keyboard is equipped with them. Otherwise, any keyboard with proper MIDI support should work. I actually use a Yamaha digital piano without any special controls to include the occasions when I just want to check out something without using the computer. In Dorico things like changing the mod wheel can simply be programmed in the key editor.
Another thing to think about is how good the touch sensitivity is if you want to play it at all seriously. For basic note entry, it really doesn’t matter much but full size is so much easier!
Thank you! I did not know that my Panasonic piano could be used as a midi. (I am sorry for the delayed response. I have been on vacation with little or no internet.)
