i have an mpk249 midi keyboard. how do i make it to where i can use the keys instead of drum pad using vst instruments and midi tracks?

Hi,

The keys are sending MIDI Notes, same as the pads. You can use either the keys or the pads or both at the same time.

Hello,
since you are using a 49-key controller, you probably need to change the octave of your keys down. Normally the drum pads are in the lower octaves (e.g. starting from C1).

Drum pad ONE triggers note C(1) and key C1 does the same.

So make sure your drum pad and your keybed start in the same octave range.
