Midi note length within region question

Hey sorry if this a simple question but I can’t seem to find an answer anywhere for this. I’m sure this was a feature before but coming back from Ableton I can’t do what I want to in this regard. So in Ableton (hopefully cubase as well) you can draw in a midi note for the whole length of the region for say an arp, and if you shorten the region, the note will only play that portion. I know I can go in the editor and shorten the note, but surely this is possible by just cutting /shortening the region. Hopefully this makes sense. Thanks!

For that specific example, you could use the “Sizing Applies Time Stretch” mode of the Object Selection tool.

For more general note trimming, this Macro works well:

That’s exactly what I was looking for, can’t believe I forgot what it was!!!

Thank you!
