MIDI note triggering pattern and kit

When using The Kit, I noticed that a MIDI note triggers patterns and kit at the same time.. of course leading to undesirable results. Any way to prevent patterns from being triggered?

Thanks! For anyone else checking: the “too long didn’t listen” answer is: in the Pattern tab in the lower left has the option to change channel. Change from Omni to another MIDI channel, and you’re done - patterns do not override the kit pads anymore.
