Will do tomorrow. I’ve given up for today
Hi,
This is how Cubase works. While recording, you can see, the MIDI Part is being created. But, if no MIDI data arrives, the MIDI Part becomes deleted, once you Stop.
I know that’s how it works…that’s what I was explaining for the OPs benefit…but was a little thrown by them saying it disappears when they clicked on it rather than when they stop recording.
Back again. I did check VST System Link & AsIO input & output not connected.VST Quick Controls Midi Input & Out - Not connected.
The same for Track Quick Controls. Is it time for Logic Pro? Very Frustrating. I’ve reached the “I give up stage”
I did write to Steinberg Support and I’m waiting to hear back.
I do appreciate all your suggestions.
Hi,
Do you use the ‘All MIDI Inputs’, or a dedicated MIDI Input Port?
Any Input Transformer or MIDI Insert involved? What MIDI Input Channel do you use? Did you double-checked the MIDI Filters?
Sometimes I use all midi inputs and others channel 1. Filter is only sysex. No midi inserts used it all. The strangest thing is that in Dorivo 5 elements. Midi keyboard works fine for adding notes. I am going to call Steinberg tech support tomorrow, and hopefully, if they answer or return call they may have an idea of how to resolve this. I do appreciate your help and the time you’re spending on this problem. I exported the program I was working on as a music XML and imported it into dorico. That will force me to learn dorico. It’s been sitting around on my computer for 6 months since I purchased it. I see some other individuals had the same problem but I could not see a solution given to resolve it.
First, thank you for all the time you spent with me. I found the solution. I removed the user preferences, I restarted cubase but, it did not rebuild the preferences file. I then grab that from version 13 and put that in the folder. It then appeared to solve most of my problems. There were still a few glitches. I deleted that version, and restarted everything. Now it rebuild the preferences file and everything worked.
