MIDI Part disappeared after save – no undo history and nothing in Pool

Hi everyone,
I ran into a serious problem in Cubase 15 and I’m trying to understand if there is any way to recover this.
A MIDI part that was in the middle of my project suddenly disappeared. Unfortunately I noticed it only after I had already saved the project several times.
Current situation:
The MIDI part is completely gone from the timeline.
Undo History is empty, so I cannot undo the action that removed it.
I checked Media → Pool and there are no MIDI parts there (only audio files).
I searched Unused Media as well – nothing.
The track itself still exists.
I checked if the part moved somewhere else in the timeline (zoomed out completely) – nothing.
I checked Track Versions on the track – there are no other versions containing the MIDI.
I also tried selecting everything in the project and zooming to selection to see if it moved somewhere – nothing.
It looks like the MIDI data itself has disappeared.
My question:
Is there any way at all to recover a deleted MIDI part from a Cubase project after the project has been saved and the undo history is gone?

Thank you :folded_hands::folded_hands:

Are you using “Save as new version” from the file menu? A previous project file might then contain the part.
Or search the .bak files in the Auto Save folder. Maybe one of them still contains it.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Unfortunately I didn’t use “Save New Version” during this session, and I also checked the Auto Save / .bak files but couldn’t find any version that still contains the missing MIDI part.

So at the moment it seems the MIDI data is simply gone from the project.

If anyone knows of any other way to recover MIDI data from a Cubase project file (.cpr), I would really appreciate the help.
