I CANT BELIEVE it but deleting Midi Devices.bin C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\1Cubase 14_64
FIXED MY PROBLEM!
Ive been trying to add a custom script and nothing showd up, no folders nothing. i deleted the file and everything showd up.

Trying on Mac Os Sequoia it doesnā€™t workā€¦ donā€™t ask me whyā€¦ any help appreciated.

It is interesting to note that not every script is affected by this issue. The script for the PreSonus FaderPort (one fader) does not have this problem.

Couldnā€™t Steinberg just compare whether the scripts that work and the scripts that donā€™t work have a specific difference?

No it is not. It is already sorted out that it is using USB information for something claims to be MIDI. Layer violation, basic poor engineering. In midi devices are identified by sysex, in USB there is meta information from the driver.

I thank you for the link.

But i expect from a pro Tool that i donā€™t have to swap files around or do write things in files. It worked before that update, so Steinberg is the one to blame

Iā€™m sorry, Iā€™m a composer, not a programmer.
It should be possible for Steinberg to fix such bugs promptly, especially when the solution is known.
Will there be an update for Cubase 14, or will Cubase 15 really be released without fixing such bugs?

Yes, this issue is going to be fixed in Cubase 14 maintenance update.

Good news if that is the case and thanks Martin. But we are almost at the point where over the last few years the next paid Cubase update is announced - i.e. Cubase 15 - so presumably the next Cubase/Nuendo maintenance update is imminent in the next 2 or 3 weeks? Thanks and best.

Historically it has often been the case where the last update of the current version arrives after the release of the new version.

Based on past experience,

the earliest possible date for the release of Cubase 15 is

November 5, 2025.

Cubase 14.0.40 is out. The issue is supposed to be fixed in this version.

Yup listed as a fix in the release notes so that is very hopeful - will check it out later today. Thanks Martin for your help down the line on this.

Update. Yipee yes ā€˜tis fixed now for Icon V1-M/X on Windows 11 25H2. Letā€™s hope it stays fixed when Cubase/Nuendo 15 comes along. Thanks to all on this thread.
