for me, it was editing the js file using expectInputNameContains instead of expectInputNameEquals
something to do with the first one being more forgiving. anyway it fixed the bug instantly for me
Great, I would very much like to give this a try. Could you explain a bit more detailed? I have no idea what js file you are talking about.
Hello, I am a Nuendo users (upgraded from Cubase).
I think the issue happens to users who upgraded from the old version. While upgrading, there must be a problem with those files-and folders as well- which may reset every mapping information if the controller is disconnected/turned off.
This is the exact thing I did to make this problem disapear (till now).
- Go to user/Documents/Steinberg/Nuendo (yours should be Cubase 14/15)
- Delete the whole folder (you can backup it to save your current information)
- Start Nuendo/Cubase, the Folder will be re-created.
- Start a new Midi Remote Script. In my case, I still have the old script which was inside Cubase 13 folder.
What did I copied? All the Data inside the Subfolder /MIDI Remote/Local AND /User Settings, which I found it relate to my MIDI Controllers. I didn’t copy any other as I guest it should be there already.
I tried turn off the controller and start it after opening a project, it works perfect.

Confirming that with Nuendo 14.0.41, the issue is still present:
An OSC-based MIDI Remote driver can be correctly detected and listed, with files present and importable, but the OSC surface UI fails to instantiate and appears completely empty.
Once this happens, the surface does not recover at all (restarting Nuendo, disabling/enabling the driver, re-importing the script, or resetting preferences do not restore it). The only workaround is recreating the driver from scratch.
