MIDI Remote map for Launchkey has a bug in it's Scrub Function

Thank you very much for updating this map some months ago. I thought it had cleared up all the problems that it had displayed before, and I guess I’d have to say that it did. Unfortunately, however, a new bug has turned up: if you are in Transport Mode and attempt to turn either Scrub, or Left or Right Locator knobs, you will be met with a knob that only moves the cursor to the right, but not to the left.

It’s definitely not a case of faulty pots: the pots work perfectly with other functions. As far as I can tell, this is the only bug I’ve seen, so Bravo to that.

I’d still like to be able to use the Scrub/Locator functions, however.

Could that be fixed by you, Steinberg?

Hi,

This is a known and already reported issue for all MIDI Remote devices.

Ok-thanks for letting me know. And thanks for the speedy reply.

Bonjour
J’ai le même problème dans le mode Transport du script d’origine du Launchkey mk4 25.
Je l’ai signalé sur la page support de steinberg.
Pour l’instant, pas de réponse satisfaisante.
J’espère qu’il y aura une mise à jour rapide.
Hello,
I’m having the same problem in the Transport mode of the original Launchkey mk4 25 script.
I reported it on the Steinberg support page.
So far, no satisfactory answer.
I hope there will be an update soon.
Apparently it would rather be the reading head and the scrub which blocks to go backwards.

Bonjour Pjazzman

Not sure why you chose to leave a reply in French, but, ok: you too have been having the same problem and you’ve reached out to support but they have yet to give you a satisfactory response, and you’re hoping that there will be an update quickly.

That was for everyone who has zero background with French.

Ok-I’m showing off.

Merci beaucoup mais je ne connais l’anglais (70 ans)

Hey there. The official language of the forum is English, so please use your favorite translation service to repost in English. The mods may/will remove your post otherwise, so just letting you know

Je comprends-I understand.

He is 70 years old, doesn’t know English, and I am assuming he offered his age as the reason he’s not all that technically savvy.

Good evening
Novation has replied to me. The issue is acknowledged by Novation and Steinberg. An update is planned. In the meantime, you must set the timeline in seconds, not bars and beats, to work properly with the Launchkey mk4 25 encoders.

See you soon for more information.

Thanks for the update, Pjazz.

The whole setting the Timeline to seconds thing didn’t work though.

Just so you know.

Hello,

You have to change the menu in the transport bar where there’s a small note; a list appears.

If you change the menu in the other menus, it doesn’t work.

Glad I found this thread. This had me baffled because I knew it was working before (When I had the timeline in seconds). Then, last night, I thought the encoders were bad, then I thought the script got corrupted then I thought it was project specific, etc., etc.,…

Glad to see that it is a known issue and I didn’t screw something up.

It seems to be linked only to the Primary Time Display so, as a workaround, set that to Minutes:Seconds. Then, you can enable the Secondary Time Display and set it to Bars:Beats and add a Ruler Track to the top of the project to still get a Bars:Beats ruler for reference.

Hello guys, thanks for starting this thread… The workaround works, but has there been an official fix for this? or are we still waiting I have cubase 14.0.32? I just want to make sure that I’m on the same page as everyone else, Because I’ve seen in the release notes of cubase 14.0.32: ‘

Jog wheel functionality on remote control devices like the CC121 and Mackie Control now works as expected.’

Shouldn’t this have fixed it or is this something else? Because I still have the problem where scrub works going forward but when I turn the knob in the other direction it doesn’t work.

I’m hoping for an explanation <3 much love.
