MIDI Remote script disappearing

I’ve had a situation a couple times now which is really frustrating me…

I will sometimes forget to turn on my Alesis VI61 MIDI keyboard before opening Cubase. What happens, is that when I do turn it on, the VI61’s MIDI script completely vanishes and the mapping is left blank! I always save my created MIDI script to a folder on a storage drive. But when I try to import the saved script, the mapping stays blank. So I then have to re-assign all my key commands and transport controls to the VI61 again!

Can someone shed some light onto why the mapping dissapears and that the saved script doesn’t populate again??? I’ve had other MIDI controllers and if I forget to switch them on before I open Cubase, they just connect perfectly fine and I can get on with my work.

Any help is greatly appreciated. And please don’t say, “Turn on the VI61 before you open Cubase!” :joy:

I have the same issues with my Metagrid Pro scripts. Sometimes I launch Cubase and one or more of my scripts is blank. Usually relaunching Cubase works for me.

That didn’t work for me. I left it for 24 hours, opening several projects. The mapping had been wiped clean. It’s bizarre. What baffles me is the imported script doesn’t change anything either.

Welcome to the club!

Yeah, it is strange. All I can do is remember to turn on the VI61 before I open Cubase for the time being. It is definitely a bug of some sort.
