MIDI routed via IAC not recording (Cubase ReWire)

Using OSX IAC vitual MIDI ports to record MIDI from rewire slave to Cubase master.

  • notes and controller data are not recorded. Notes are snapped to playhead start position/stacked.
  • auditioning sounds works fine (rewire salve MIDI track to Cubase instrument)

This seems to only happen with Cubase. I’ve tested Reaper slaved to Live and it records data fine from Slave to Master.

There are threads reporting this issue from 2014.

This seems to be a Bug with the way Cubase implements Rewire - why does it get relegated to Miscellaneous?
