I think the playback mode could be improved; I’m mainly interested in the playback of MIDI scores…
During playback everything is OK except:
- SCRUB mode is very practical, but it doesn’t display the keys (blue dot) on the piano keyboard.
- in the case of grouped notes (notes on the same stem), in “step by step” mode (< and > keys) only one note is displayed, whereas there are several on the same stem.
- finally: it would be much more practical to highlight (in color) the note(s) played, instead of following them on the score with the playback head (which it would also be very useful to be able to hide during playback).
DORICO is a wonderful tool; I think that correcting the points I’ve pointed out here would make it the definitive perfect tool for any musician.
