MIDI setup

Hi all,

Does anyone know the difference between “Windows MIDI” and “Direct MIDI” in the MIDI setup ?
I understand that activating “Windows MIDI” means that cubase 7 access to the MIDI interface through windows and activating “Direct MIDI” means that cubase 7 acces directly to the MIDI interface like ASIO drivers.
