Here’s an odd one, and it’s happening in only one song.
I have a MIDI track driving a layer containing a VSTi. It used to work but now the MIDI data isn’t reaching the layer. If I change the layer’s input to my keyboard I can play the instrument just fine. When I switch the layer’s input back to the track it doesn’t play. If I turn on track monitoring and set the track’s input to my keyboard still nothing happens.
I tried switching to another song and doing all the same things there and it all works as expected, it’s just the one song that is not working properly.
Is there some song or layer specific setting that I might have switched inadvertently?
I’ve got a workaround, I’ve simply defined the layer in another part of the song (originally it was in the first part where it starts - it’s a continuo that plays throughout the song). I’ve created the layer in the second part and directed the track there and it’s all working fine now.
Got there just before I threw the laptop out of the window
That’s incorrect, you can send a MIDI track to a layer that exists in only one part for the entirety of the song, which is what I am still doing, I’ve just created the layer in the second part of the song and am using it for every part in the whole song.
