Created midi track , but cannot here output. What am I not doing?

What is an output of your MIDI track, please?
MIDI are just data, like trigger this note, that note, move this controller. You have to send them somewhere, to get the sound. Are you using any hardware device, or do you have Virtual Instruments (VSTis)?
