Yeah, I’d agree that the midi side has taken steps backwards and certainly no steps forward yet the audio and VSTi side has made leaps and bounds. Time for midi to get some attention.
And on the subject of the thread, I mostly use external keyboards so I wouldn’t like the input and output to be tied together by one value, but I wouldn’t mind if the two were independently represented in the inspector.

Hmm, could have sworn I responded to this. But I don’t see the post.
I went back a pulled the manual. You are correct. It says word for word in the manual that you get all incoming MIDI channels and that you can use the filter to restrict the channel. I have no idea what I was thinking about now. Maybe I have programs confused. Or maybe I’m confusing arguments from previous versions.
