If you are mostly wanting to sequence VSTi’s and edit in piano roll is it better to use instrument tracks or VSTi midi tracks?

Piano roll works with both instrument tracks and VSTI Midi Tracks.

Do a search about midi tracks vs instrument tracks. The main difference from my knowledge is you should use midi tracks with your VST has multiple outputs such as Kontakt or Superior Drums etc.

If you just want a stereo output instrument tracks should work just fine.

As of C7.5 there is almost no difference. Instrument tracks have multi outs and multi midi channels now.

I would recommend using Instrument Tracks, personally,

I didn’t know that! Are there any differences when using automation on instrument tracks that you are aware of? If not…what do you mean by “almost?”
