Midiremote mapping

It sounds like the MIDI signal (Input) is coming in normally, but the mapping isn’t working! This is most likely not a hardware or driver issue, but rather a software conflict related to Cubase 13’s MIDI Remote system or the way it handles the Mackie Control protocol.

Subject: MIDI Signal Received but Mapping Failed - Mackie Control Issue in Cubase 13

Dear Steinberg Support Team,

I am contacting you regarding a MIDI mapping issue with my MIDIPLUS master keyboard on Cubase 13 (Windows 11 Pro).

[The Specific Issue]

  • Signal Status: I have confirmed that MIDI Input signals are being received correctly in the Cubase transport bar when I turn the knobs.

  • The Problem: Despite the signal being detected, four specific knobs cannot be mapped or assigned to parameters within Cubase 13.

  • Comparison: This setup worked perfectly under the Mackie Control protocol in Cubase 12 on the same system.

[Environment]

  • OS: Windows 11 Pro

  • DAW: Cubase 13

  • Hardware: MIDIPLUS Master Keyboard (using Mackie Control Protocol)

  • Symptoms: All other CC messages and keys work fine. Only these 4 knobs fail to map, even though the MIDI activity meter shows they are sending data.

Since the MIDI signal is clearly reaching the DAW, this seems to be a software-level mapping or protocol recognition issue within Cubase 13.

Could you please provide a solution or a workaround to restore the mapping functionality for these knobs?

Best regards,

Hi and welcome to the forum,

This is not a support channel. This is a user forum.

Did you do that via the MIDI Input Monitor in the Studio > Studio Setup > MIDI Ports Setup window, please? Or how did you confirm this?

I’m confused with your report. How is the device integrate in Cubase? You are mentioning Mackie Control and also MIDI Remote. How do you want to map or assign the parameter?
