Hi there - complex issue below ![]()
I have recently set up a new Win11 machine and I’m in the process of migrating and setting things up (joy!!!).
I have been using Wavelab primarily for Batch processing tasks and have numerous batch processor presets complete with filelists and preset chains.
The issues I’m going to need to tackle are the fact that all the Batch presets contain VST plugin chains with their own presets. Some of the batches use older VST2 plugins and some use newer VST3 versions.
I saved all my plugin presets in their native formats outside of WL and then when creating batches, I loaded plugins and then loaded the VST preset either by importing it if it was a VST2 preset and simply loading it in if it is VST3 plugin.
I’m anticipating I will not have many issues reloading the batches with VST3 plugins and presets if I simply install all my used plugins and rebuilt the documents folder with the same presets, but my main concern is with all those VST2 presets that require VST2 plugins to be installed and somehow recognize the preset paths which are much more messy than VST3.
I still have my old system intact and all batch process presets load with no issues with their respective plugin and plugin presets.
So my question is if there is a good workflow to follow before I delve into trial and error ![]()
And specifically:
- Do I have to install VST2 versions of plugins or is there a way to migrate them at the source from my old system?
- Is it better to first manually migrate presets by load VST2 and VST3 versions of similar plugins and re-creating VST3 presets? Is there a simpler way to migrate presets?
Thanks in advance!!!
