Minimize audio files with selectable amount of handles

I often get projects for mixing that contain huge amounts of audio data that is not being used. In order to use functions like DOP (and applying these permanently), split and merge audio tracks, extract audio channels from poly-wavs, etc. without creating even more redundant data, I like using the “minimize file” function at the start of my mixing job - rather than at the end for archiving. Therefor it would be nice to be able to set a certain handle length for that process so I would still be able to correct some edits that have been made beforehand.

Cheers,
Alex

Hi Audio-Alex,
I agree with you. It is only able when exporting an AAF. But not when you have finished your project and want to archive it.

Truly need this!!!
It’s very important to people in post, we always need to consolidate our projects.

I vote for this too.

can we get more votes on this, please??

I got a big red N Dok on my table and the Inteview parts are several hour long recordings. They got cut and I am mixing now. It’s a pain to have Nuendo calculating the waveforms over and over for minutes.
I don’t want to minimize so I can optimize the cuts if needed in the mix.

please Steinberg… minimize with handles
