Let’s keep in mind that this is not a music theory forum focused on chord symbols.
As previously stated, when I play the notes G, B-flat, D, F#, and A, on my Midi keyboard, Dorico displays Gma9(ma7), which is exactly what I want. However, no matter what I type, Dorico converts it to Gmi9.
Unfortunately, none of you have addressed my technical question, which is how to type the chord symbol Gmi9(ma7) so that Dorico renders it correctly.
For those who may not understand this chord symbol or doubt its validity, you can go into the Engraver options in Dorico where you can choose between two options for displaying it. Therefore, there is no doubt that it exists in Dorico. I just can’t get Dorico to recognize it when I type it.
Please respond only if you know how to type it so that Dorico will render it correctly.
Thanks!
