If you select a string of flag notes and rests, and beam “force stemlet beam” it works as it should. However, if the first rhythmic position chosen is a rest, then the command “force stemlet beam” does not work and the first rest is de-selected. Repeating the exact command a second time works as it should.
That’s because (for boring technical reasons) that rest doesn’t yet exist, and it can’t both create the rest and update the beam in the same operation. If you first switch on the ‘Force position and duration’ property for the rest you’ll find that you can force the stemlet for the whole group as you expect.
Okay. It may be worth noting in the doc that you must perform the operation twice to get it to work. Thanks.
