Misaligned parentheses

On both the octava line and the pedal line I can’t get the parentheses to align with their respective lines - any thoughts?

Can you cut down the project to just an affected few bars and then attach it here? We can’t diagnose or fix graphical problems from screenshots.

Here it is

The problem is caused by you having reduced the size of the Pedal mark and Ottava music symbols in Library > Music Symbols. Unfortunately if you do that, at present the parentheses will go bananas, as you’ve found. Instead of reducing the size of these symbols in Library > Music Symbols, try setting Custom scale to (say) 90% in the Common group of the Properties panel.

Thanks for the reply. I adjusted things as you suggested but no change was made, so I further tried various values as low as 44 - 100 and the size did change but the parentheses did not. Please note I did not change anything but used the same template as in the first movement which had no problems.

You need to additionally revert the changes you’ve made to the two symbols I specified in Library > Music Symbols.

Did those things but didn’t fix it automatically, however I can now adjust the dashed lines vertically so I can fix it one instance at a time. Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi @richardC, I made a short video, following the workflow suggested by Daniel, to show what to do (in case you still need it):

many thanks - will give it a look

Christian:

Many thanks for taking the time to do this. I had completely forgotten about reset to default.
