Missing a backup or autosave function in VST Live

Missing a backup or autosave function in VST Live

“File / Save Arcive…”
However…. This app is for LIVE PERFORMANCE

Emagine, you play for 2000pax and the Prime Minister and VL gets to autosave period priorizing all resources for autosave………

Another point to have an Edit mode and a Live mod in VSTL

What does this Save Archive do? Does it autosave every few minutes?

VST Live crashes so often when I use it. I really would like projects to be backed up every 10 minutes and also be auto restored in case VST Live crashes.

Is this working with this Save Archive function? Can I set VST Live to autosave my projects, maybe for as long as I do not play songs?

Would it take too many resources simply to add a backup file of the project every 10 minutes or so? I know what MAGIX software (Musik Maker, Samplitude) is doing this. I found the backup function there was quite useful since new project files with the ending BACK werde created and if the program crashed you could simply open this Backup file that did only save the project every 10 minutes and not all the content of the project again and again and you still had access to the latest changes that you made…

This program is designed to work in a live environment. Making backups, when you are on stage, will be very annoying.

I see. So why could there not be a button that quickly enables and disables auto save as the user wishes?
Therefore if you prepare the projects at home it could autosave and if you’re on stage you could quickly disable this function or it is getting disabled itself as soon as there is playback going on?

Because +1 to remember as pre-show tasklist
Resolume arena doesn’t has autosave
GrandMA lighting desks has no autosave
etc…

My save process takes cca 30 seconds or more,… (quick computer but a bigger project)
Suddenly the ohhh forgot to switc… then it’s too late!!! This is not funny man! There are lots of tiny details we need to solve, set before a show, every single movement counts, every single source of failure should be avoided.

From far perspective… oh yes, a single “switch” between live and practicing mode… but finally +1 thing and possible source for error… :((
( fyi to @Spork too about my fear of AutoSave or any Live/Practicing-mode switch)

On the other hand - If VL asked the question at startup there would be no confusion
