Hello,
I recently upgraded to Dorico 5 pro from Dorico 4 pro. When I run the program I always get these errors: dorico 5 error 1.pdf (121.7 KB) dorico 5 error 2.pdf (69.7 KB)
I don’t see these files listed in the installation manager, and would rather avoid installing lots of files that I don’t need.
Is there somewhere I can find these specific files?
I am on a Mac (Ventura 13.6.3).
“Error 1” is not an error. It is a warning that Dorico is taking a long time to trawl through all the plug-ins you have installed.
Error 2: Apparently you have not installed Groove Agent SE or the Iconica Sketch sounds. If you don’t want to use them, that’s fine, just check the “I don’t want to see this again” box.
This is what I get on opening DORICO 5.1.60.2187: 940 missing files! If there is some step I need to take, where are the directions to do so? I followed all installation instructions. Some sounds work [piano, bass, guitar, sax] some do not [trumpet, trombone, drums…] Dorico crashed 10 time yesterday over this issue. Where are instructions to find missing files and get the sound part of Dorico working?
OK re: posting the question twice but it’s been tough to find the right spot to post and I have no idea which thread to follow Dorico Diagnostics.zip (2.3 MB)
Hi @Bert_Ligon , thanks for the diagnostic data.
Just judging from that it looks like you have installed the sound contents files correctly, but try the following please. In Finder go to /Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Content (Note: That is the LIbrary folder in the root of your hard drive, not the one in your home directory). Go to every subfolder you can find and in there do a double click on one of the vstsound files. After doing all this, does it still complain about missing sound files?
/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Content contains a VST Sound folder with another folder in that named User Content and nothing else. User content is empty.
As benwiggy already mentioned, you are looking at the wrong place. Open a Finder window and then from the menu choose Go > Go to Folder and there copy and paste the path given by me. Hit the Return/Enter key and Finder shall bring you to the correct location.
