Yesterday I upgraded Dorico Pro 5. Here is what Dorico says it is:
Version 5.1.70.2200 (Nov 18 2024)
Dorico 5 AudioEngine Version 5.6.42.5
However, when I try to open a new piece, or even an older one, I get a long list of “missing fonts”. These were there when the pieces were created in 5.1.50.
As for staves, they all look like this (missing all notes):
Is there a fix or a place to find the missing files or even a way to ‘undo’ the update?
I’m still on macOS 10.15.7 in case that’s the problem.
In the first instance, please try rebooting your Mac. If that doesn’t help, please try clearing the font cache. With no other applications running, open the Terminal, and use the following commands. First:
atsutil server -shutdown
and hit Return, then:
atsutil databases -remove
and again hit Return, then finally:
atsutil server -ping
and hit Return. Now restart Dorico: hopefully everything will be back to normal.
Thank you Daniel. I don’t know why the fonts disappeared, but I tried loading the fonts from a backup that had them, and that did the trick. It seems. I haven’t yet rebooted as I have another process running but I’ll see if that keeps things working OK.
Thanks too for the atsutil commands. Very handy!
