Missing “Fretted Instruments” content in Dorico Pro 6.1.0.13 (macOS) — no tablature guitars availabl

Hi,
I’m running Dorico Pro 6.1.0.13 on macOS, installed via Steinberg Download Assistant (and even tried the Full Installer).
Everything works fine except that no guitar with tablature is available when adding instruments — only regular guitars.

I’ve checked /Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Content/ and confirmed that there is no Dorico 6 folder, only HALion, Groove Agent and VST Sound.
The Additional Content section doesn’t appear in the Download Assistant either, so it seems the “Fretted Instruments” library is missing entirely on macOS builds.

Could you please confirm if this is a packaging issue in 6.1.0.13 and whether there’s a way to reinstall or download the missing Dorico content manually?

Thanks a lot,
Ezra

There is no such thing AFAIK. A guitar is a guitar.

Just add a guitar, go to the Layout options (select the layout of the part where you want to show the tabs), go to the fretted instruments section, and set the options to your liking

As TonH says: in Setup mode, you select the instruments for your score. You can’t go to a shop and ask for “a guitar with tablature”.

In Layout Options, you select whether you want tablature.

Also: the “Content” folders only contain sample instruments, e.g. sounds for playback in HALion. Dorico’s instrument definitions for notation are not stored there.

Let us know if this works for you, or if there is indeed an issue with your installation.

Thanks for your replies. Everything is fine, it actually seems logical a posteriori. I am a Finale user and still struggling to get into the arcanes of Dorico.
