Missing Kits in Groove Agent 5.2.30

@Alexander_D Please delete the Groove Agent preferences as well.

Click on “Go” in the Finder menu. Press the “Option” key on your keyboard while the menu is open. This adds the “Library” entry, which can now be selected. In the Library, open the “Preferences” folder.

Rename all Groove Agent folders like you did for the MediaBay. (x_Groove Agent)

Hey. @Jan_Riesener I was renamed x_Groove Agent and x_Groove Agent Standalone. Also x_Steinberg MediaBay Server and x_Steinberg MediaLib. Now I see more libs but not all. I can’t see Simon Philips libs for example…

@Jan_Riesener BTW I was tired to rename to normal Groove agent Standalone folder and when open GA5 in Cubase I still have just one icon ALL… I really don’t know what I need to do. All my works was stopped :frowning:

@Alexander_D You need to rename all Groove Agent folders:

I have followed these steps, on Windows 11, and it has not fixed the issue. I have included a quick screencapture video showing all the folders I’ve renamed, the library manager showing libraries installed, and how GA does not show these librairies. You’ll also notice that the kits briefly appear under ‘instruments’ before immediately dissapearing.

I am on GA 5.2.30.75

Mediabay version 1.3.90.73

@Jan_Riesener I don’t installed version SE because I have the full version. So in my case I was renamed two folders of GA5 and it’s still not working. In the comments above you will see that these steps doesn’t work not only for me. I am sure that in this situation the problem is on Steinberg side.. as you can see, I am not only the one with this issue..

Hi @Jan_Riesener, I submitted a request for support using the Steinberg website. Someone reached out and they had me delete, then reinstall the latest version of MediaBay. No progress, issue persists.

Then, they requested that I manually reset the preferences for GA using the following instructions:
Manually reset your preferences by opening your File Explorer: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg then move the folders that say Groove Agent 5 and SE and any earlier version of Groove Agent or Groove Agent SE you see to the desktop.

I did this, and again, the issue persists.

I have paying clients over the next few days and I need this to be resolved asap. Please escalate and produce a bug report to the devs. I am happy to give any logs or info that can help rectify this in as efficient a manner as possible if you arent able to reproduce on your end.

If it was working before for everyone and now it’s not, then we don’t need to do anything to fix it. The company does.

After all, this is Steinberg — not Seinfeld.

UPDATE: I just tried both Halion 7 and Groove Agent STANDALONE and both libraries showed up as expected. I then opened Halion 7 and Groove Agent inside a Nuendo 14 project, and the libraries were missing.

So there’s that…

Agreed. It’s the pain and annoying. Once again - all my projects was stopped at once with this issue… it must be fixed asap.
And honestly - it’s a critical bug!

In my case in Standalone version in Groove Agent 5 all libraries are missing as well…

My standalone GA5 is also affected unfortunately.

I just checked again and in standalone mode I have some missing libraries and the patterns aren’t loading (but that could also be just a setting).

Clearly, this is all my fault.

Guys, I am sorry, but since I cannot resolve three cases at the same time here, and the conditions on the systems are certainly different in detail, I would like to ask you to submit a support ticket for each issue, if you haven’t done so already. This way, my colleagues in support will have all the necessary information at hand to handle each case individually. I can only provide limited support here in the forum.

There is only one thing left I can still recommend checking to possibly resolve the issue.

Please initialize the program preferences by performing these steps:

- Close all programs.

- Open the ‘Run’ command prompt and press the Windows logo key + R simultaneously.

- In the command line of the ‘Run’ window, enter this path: %appdata%/Steinberg

- Locate the folder which is named the same as your Steinberg program, for example 'Cubase 15_64’.

- Rename it (for example to "x_Cubase 15_64”) in order to hide it.

- Important: If you find folders of previous program versions, make sure to hide or remove them too.

Next time you start the program, a new folder with fresh preferences and default settings will be created - which hopefully fixes the problem you’ve experienced.

Preferences that you have grown accustomed to and that have taken a lot of time to configure - the key commands (Key Commands.xml) for instance - can be copied from the inactive folder to the newly created active preferences folder at a later point.

More details on the preferences can be found here: https://helpcenter.steinberg.de/hc/en-us/articles/115000245510-Preferences-of-Cubase-and-Nuendo

Mac OS

Please reset your program preferences by generating a new preferences folder.

In order to do so you must rename the folder mentioned below. Note that since Mac OS X 10.7.x the user library is hidden. To access it, please click on the “Go” menu in the menu bar of the Finder. When the “Go” drop down menu appears, you need to press and hold the key “alt” on your keyboard which adds the “Library” entry to the menu.

Now please rename

"/Users//Library/Preferences/Cubase X“ (The “X” represents your Cubase version)

to

“/Users//Library/Preferences/x_Cubase X”

Important: If you find folders of previous program versions, make sure to hide or remove them too.

Preferences that have taken a lot of time to configure - the key commands for instance - can be copied from the inactive folder to the newly created active preferences folder at a later point.

More details on the preferences can be found here: https://helpcenter.steinberg.de/hc/en-us/articles/115000245510-

@Jan_Riesener The main problem that Support via ticket is a pain. Steinberg ignore them or we need to wait more than ONE month. And I need to work with the DAW which I was purchased and all works good before Steinberg change something in the media system give as free collection. It’s not good alternative. For me of course… I was paid for GA5 and libraries which was broken not by my side. Now I need to wait (who knows how much). Honestly once again, it’s not the first time when Steinberg broken something. But this issue is so critical for me…
Seriously start to think to switch to another DAW… it’s all the pain…I really love Cubase, but at this moment I really don’t know how to finishing my projects…

@Alexander_D

I absolutely see your point. Please let me know when you have raised a support-ticket. I can contact my colleagues, ask them to have a look and speed up the process. Or you can call the hotline for direct assistance.

Please understand that I do not have the necessary tools available to collect all the required information. Furthermore, as a QA engineer, I can only provide limited support via the forum.

@Jan_Riesener I understand you as well of course. But I don’t think that clear the preferences of Cubase will help. Because in Standalone mode we also have this issue. Regarding the tickets as you can see on the forum that Steinberg support prefer to close the ticket and give us feedback that we need clear the preferences as you told before… OMG…

@Alexander_D Right, your GA standalone has this issue too and resetting the preferences of Cubase isn’t perhaps the right thing to do. Therefor, please submit a ticket. Include all necessary information about what is already done on your side to fix it. The support department won’t ask you again to reset the preferences if it was already done.

BTW: We just released a new version of the Steinberg Library Manager. I recommend to install it. Just open the Steinberg Download Assistant to install it.

Hi Jan, thanks for your assistance. Can you please contact Gregory Jackson and get him to escalate my ticket? He had reached out on behalf of Steinberg Support and told me to continue on the forum after he got me to try installing a new version of media bay. Now, you re telling me to contact Steinberg support. It seems like nobody is in a position to offer assistance.

Yes… I was on Ableton before Cubase and their support are amazing honestly. Very fast and productive…
With Steinberg… just here on forum. And on this forum Steinberg don’t always reply as well… for example they confirmed the visual issue in Cubase 15 on Mac. And I was asked twice about this…with mentioned tag. No answer. Silence…

Im sorry to hear but that just hasn’t been my experience with Steinberg support. Every time I have submitted a request for help, I’ve received a reply within a day or two and even now, I received a message from someone at Steinberg, stating that Jan had escalated my current request to them and they are investigating.

Latest update, I installed groove agent se 6 and the librairies appear. Also, the librairies appear in the media rack in the right column zone. It appears there’s a smoking gun pointing at ga5. If I absolutely have to, I guess updating to ga6 would resolve the issue immediately however I’m not keen on spending money to update because of a bug - and certainly not at full price. I did not choose this time to update. I always wait for sales!
