After upgrading to Cubase 7 from 6.5 I find that my old licences for Cubases 4 & 5 are no longer there.
I have an old laptop running Windows XP which I need to use to run my Virtual Guitarist software…Using Cubase 4 or 5( can’t find anything as good in certain situations as Virtual Guitarist…whatever happened to that?)
What can be done?
Thanks R D.
Your Cubase 7 license also allows you to run earlier versions of Cubase, just plug in the dongle and they’ll work
Yes that’s what I thought…my previous 6 & 6.5 work but not Cubase 4 and 5…
The Cubase 4 and 5 are on an old laptop running xp …maybe when you update only previous versions that are on the updating computer are held on the dongle…
?
Update the e-licenser software on your old xp machine.
Mmm…Well afraid I might lose 6.5 and 7 if I do that.
I thought there would be a simple safe way.
This is all because I want to use my indispensable Virtual Guitarist , Electric and Accoustic.
This is the safe and simple (and only) way - take it or leave it…
lol
It make sense it didn’t work, because a pre-Cubase 7 version of the eLCC wouldn’t recognise a license like that. I don’t see how that would be a dangerous thing to do, because the license is on the dongle, not in the eLCC
