I am condensing flute parts with slightly different rhythms, but it should work with stems up and stems down. However, Dorico is removing the first note from my flute two part and changed the rhymic duration of the rests.
Here’s what it looks like in Galley View:

So, what happened?
I would like this to be on one line to save space in the score. If there’s no “solution” I suppose I can just keep them on separate staves.
Hi @mjmoody, since I cannot reproduce your issue, can you upload a cut-down version of your project that still presents the issue? (maybe the dynamic is creating some issue, since I see that it amalgamated the F in your example, while in my example the two F are not amalgamated since they start in slightly different rhythmic positions)

I should have tried duplicating the problem. When I create a new score and rewrite the figure, it works correctly as in your example. My score was imported from Finale. I have just reduced it to one page, and it is still giving me the example I first displayed. Here is the file that still contains the weird condensing with the flute parts.

There’s something very odd going on in Flute 1. It “has” a second voice that doesn’t seem to be doing anything. And (as with some of the other instruments), the bar rest in its first measure is an explicit rest. If you delete it, the following rests disappear (and no ‘Starts Voice’ appears afterwards)…
I’m not sure what’s happening, but if you select the entire Flute 1 staff and press V to switch it to voice 2, then select everything again (including the 8th rest before the first note) and press V again to switch back to voice 1, the condensation works. You can then delete the first bar rest so it becomes an implicit rest.

(And when you’ve done that, when you re-open the project, the 2nd voice is not here anymore, unlike before.)
