I recently rearranged my recording setup, so had to unplug everything and move it.
When done, I fired up cubase (also had to order longer cord to connect focusrite 6i6 to laptop - the cord is fine bc computer is recognizing the interface), and it gave me the missing port message but I clicked on “ok” and opened it . . .
I know that i need to re-assign the focusrite but the problem is that cubase is not recognizing this as an option. I have looked everywhere I could think of: under studio, studio setup, vst connections, etc.
So my computer is recognizing the unit when I connect it but it is not recognized in Cubase. And yes, I uninstalled control/drivers and reinstalled latest one. And also restarted computer.
Thank you. I thought that I had but I didn’t actually click on audio system. So … just clicked on that and then the control panel, which showed me the ports. I selected focusrite for the speakers. Then was able to select focusrite again under audio system.
Then changed inputs/ outputs and … I seem to be back in business!
It shows steinberg built in asio driver…. Does your interface have its own asio driver? You were probably using vendor driver and somehow it switched to steinberg and ports are likely named slightly different so couldn’t find them.
