This has happened before…(See attached photo). Some sample show up with a red circle and line through it and obviously don’t play, seems to be an ongoing thing. I’m a certified Steinberg trainer and this doesn,t look good when it pops up in front of students. Any ideas please.

Yes, check for file permissions on the installed contents. By default that gets installed on Mac under /Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Contents
Have a look for everything related to GrooveAgent or GASE, every single file must have the same file permissions.
Hi Ulf
I’m sorry but I don’t really understand how to do this, it seems unnecessarily complicated.
Kind Regards
James
Unfortunately it is necessary to do that and I did not say that it is trivial, but if you wish we can do it together in a remote screen sharing session.
That would be great, thank you! Hopefully tomorrow morning suits.
Wielen dank.

Solved: Some contents files were not registered with the Library Manager.
So double-clicking them solved the issue?
Yes, he has tons of Steinberg libraries but mostly moved out to an external drive, but some vstsound files were still in the default location. So we double clicked one item in each pertinent folder and that brought everything back on track.
Many thanks Ulf for sorting this out, thank you.
