Mixer 1st before Interface Good?

Hey hey,

I was cleaning and found my old Mackie 1202 mixer, then it hit me, i remembered someone, or maybe ive read it somewhere…anyway, i believe it was something about summing your gear to an analog gear before the interface A/D is good? shrugs

so my question is:

Is it “Good” or beneficial to route all my recording equipments (Roland Phantom, 2 mic’s, MS200R, 2 guitars) to my Mackie mixer before my interface?

ie. mackie channels 1~8 to Presonus firestudio project 1~8.

There’s no real advantage that I know off, apart from if you prefer the preamps and EQ of the Mackie over the preamps in your presonus.
