Mixer Confusion

I’m writing a piece for woodwind quintet and it seems the mixer on the play tab has no effect on the instruments. I’ve tried muting and soloing also with no effect. I’m confused. What am I doing wrong?

Are you using NotePerformer by any chance? it has its own mixer.

Does this do anything? Play > Deactivate All Mute States and Deactivate All Solo States
