Meters in Cubase are sluggish and unpredictable. I know you can change the speed in milliseconds in the preferences, but it’s still not fast enough.
Check Pro Tools mixer meters. Very responsive and fast.

The problem is that frame rate in GUI drops when there are lot of plugins drawing. It’s quite funny to see that even remote controllers starts to fall apart when this happen.
