Mixing and effects

I noticed that we have a master reverb set up by default. It’s nice to know that it’s there, but I don’t want it, necessarily.

In looking into disabling or selectively enabling that and also the compression, it struck me that what I’d like is to be able to mix VST instances.

I use Vienna Ensemble Pro, and typically have four or five instances in a project. Some have default reverbs, others none; when I want fx, I generally put them on an instance’s master bus.

Back in Dorico, sometimes I’ve also got Kontakt or Play or both. My current project, for example, is too much for my CPU to handle, so I’m going into VEP and disabling one or two instances to lighten the load. It would be more convenient to be able to mute individual VSTs selectively from the Dorico mixer.

To be sure I’m understanding you, you want to be able to mute all of the outputs belonging to a particular plug-in in a single go?

Yes, that’s right.

Thanks. I’ll make a note of this and we’ll have a think about it.
