Hi, I’ve had Cubase for a while, with a Focusrite mic set up, but I haven’t really used it as I don’t know how to mix down vocals at all. So can anyone give me some tips or anything? Any default plug ins I should be using and how do they work, anything I should download, etc. I just don’t want to start making music if it isn’t going to sound proper. Thanks.

You can start with Track presets. These are sets of plug-ins, which are already setup for some purpose. In your case, for example Vocal.
The most important effects are: Compressor, EQ and Reverb.
