I would like to suggest several improvements to the ID3 tagging options in the Audio Mixdown dialog:
- Add “Podcast” as an available genre.
- Remove or significantly increase the current character limits for ID3 fields. The limit appears to be around 30 characters; a limit of at least 160 characters would be much more practical.
- Add the option to embed cover artwork directly during MP3 export.
I produce podcasts in Cubase and currently have to edit every exported MP3 with a separate tagging tool because:
- our podcast name is too long for the Artist field,
- the Comment field is too short for our hashtags and additional information,
- cover artwork cannot be embedded during export,
- and I have to change the genre manually from Speech to Podcast every time.
Modern podcast production requires more flexible metadata support. Improving these options would make Cubase considerably more practical as a complete podcast production environment.
