Modulation retrigger

Is it correct that there is no way to re-trigger a modulator (LFO) when playing MIDI ?

I think you can retrigger the LFO modulator via midi side-chaining.

Sounds interesting but also a bit complicated. Is there anywhere this is described ?

And also is the MIDI retrigger option (on modulators) not supposed to actually retrigger the LFO ?

Yes, exactly. Through a midi side-chain.
You create a midi track and route its output to the input of the modulator. Then this midi track will be able to trigger the LFO cycle.

cool it worked. But it seems I need 2 tracks or more depending of how many modulators I need to be triggered. Or is it possible to only do it with one track ? refer screenshot of my setup

A Midi Track can send its data to up to five destinations, via its main out and the four Sends.

got it. and… I will always need to have an instrument and a MIDI track to make this work I guess. I mean I cannot only use an instrument alone right

Correct. Often in Cubase the solution is to create an additional track.

Midi side-chaining requires two tracks.
